“Forgetting Gershwin”

A few months ago, I made a short album for free. One afternoon I sat down with a bottle of bourbon and a piano and tried to remember how to play Rhapsody in blue. A few measures in I realized I was far too gone to remember how the piece actually went so I sat there and played every Gershwin piece I could think of (from memory) until it came back to me.

If you ever get me around a Piano when I’m drunk it inevitably turns into ragtime, (because ragtime is hilarious) so listen for some cheesy improvised rag/stride piano “I’ve got rhythm” at some point in there.
